There are several good reasons to store a car, RV or boat. Being away from home for an extended period of time or the lack of available space to store the vehicle where you live would be just a couple reasons. There are also several things to consider when planning storing a vehicle.

First thing to consider is whether you need indoor storage or if outdoor will do. Most people will choose indoor storage to better protect their vehicle. Another consideration is of course the cost.

Car storage rates in California for example start at $49.00 a month and since it is such a competitive market there are many up front incentives such as a free first month or the first month for a dollar. On the other hand car storage rates for Massachusetts are generally not as high starting at $39.00 but since the competition is not as great there are not many incentives.

The single most reason people store their vehicles is to protect their investment. Whether the vehicle is a car, boat, truck or RV, protecting them from the elements both natural and manmade is paramount.

For whatever reason a person chooses to store their vehicle it is usually not a permanent situation. Most people store vehicles until they have a good place to put them close to home.
